Third Party Car Insurance Explained
July 16th, 2010
- According to InvestorGuide.com, the first party in an insurance agreement is the person who has a contract with the insurance company while the third party is the other person involved in the accident. If you have first party insurance, it extends to cover damage done to your car. However, third party liability insurance only covers the damage done to the other driver and his car.
- Most states require that you have at least some third party coverage before you can own a car, according to InvestorGuide.com. But buying third party insurance is a good idea anyway.

Long-Term Care Insurance Shouldn’t Be Overlooked in Retirement Planning
July 8th, 2010
For people who may not be familiar with long-term care insurance, one place to learn more is the General Services Administration (GSA), a federal agency that provides information to consumers on a wide range of topics.
According to the GSA, long-term care insurance benefits will apply to those who can no longer perform various day-to-day activities, such as bathing, dressing and eating.
With that in mind, long-term care insurance may be as important to one’s retirement security plans as setting aside sufficient cash savings. This is especially the case when considering that Medicare does not cover many of the needs that often present themselves later in life, including nursing homes.
However, long-term care insurance applies to more than just nursing homes.

Insurance companies operating within the state must report all insurance policy sales, cancellations and nonrenewals on registered vehicles to the Missouri Department of Revenue Driver License Bureau. The bureau uses this information to determine the status of illegally uninsured drivers so corrective action can be taken.

Hulu.com posted a movie made in 1936 called “Lloyd’s of London.” Yes, it is a movie about the founding of Lloyd’s. Tyrone Power plays Jonathan Blake and through war and romance he helps establish Lloyd’s. As a history buff, I can tell you that the movie is only loosely based on real events.
