Google Strikes Again With Google Wallet

If you have been keeping up with the news, you have probably heard about the latest technological advancement in payment methods – Google Wallet.
Google Wallet has taken on the responsibility of replacing the traditional wallet with a virtual one. The point of Google Wallet is to provide users with a digital wallet on their smart phones which stores all of their credit cards.
Additionally, users can purchase and store Google Prepaid Cards on their phone. Google Wallet allows shoppers to pay for their merchandise by tapping their smart phone against PayPass terminals at the checkout.

UnitedHealth Buying Medicare Advantage Plan With Chronically Ill Specialty

Bloomberg: UnitedHealth Agrees To Acquire Medicare Managed-Care Insurer XLHealth UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH), the largest U.S. health insurer by sales, said it will buy XLHealth Corp., a provider of managed care for chronically ill Medicare members, to strengthen a growth area likely to gain increasing support from the U.S. government as it trims costs. The purchase price was about $2 billion, according to a person familiar with the deal who asked not to be identified because the price wasn’t disclosed. … The purchase of XLHealth, with 111,000 members, is the seventh since Jan. 1

Bride Or Groom In The Forces? Wedding Insurance Gives Ultimate Defence

With this in mind, we are talking today about a very narrow piece of insurance cover, i.e. military weddings.
Military weddings are not necessarily those you may envisage, for example those using full military uniforms or ceremonial swords and the like. Often, they are just one member of the armed forces marrying somebody who is not a member of the armed services, however, there are similarities in the types of wedding insurance cover required for these events to be properly protected by insurance.

Listing Rules For Non-life Insurers By March: Indian Regulator

Indian insurance regulator IRDA has said the guidelines for listing of non-life insurance companies will be issued by March, 2012.

Health Insurers Predict They Will Pass On Health Law’s New Tax To Consumers

A report financed by insurance trade group America’s Health Insurance Plans predicts that premiums will increase by about 2 percent in 2014, and 3 to 4 percent by 2023.
Bloomberg: Health Law Premium Tax Will Boost Small-Group Coverage Costs, Insurers Say Health insurance premiums for people buying coverage through small-employer markets will increase by as much as 3.7 percent, or $3,100, over 10 years as a new tax takes effect in 2014, a study by U.S. insurers found. The analysis by America’s Health Insurance Plans, a trade group, shows the new tax on insurers would be passed onto consumers and boost premiums for individuals and families, as well as seniors and the disabled who participate in Medicare Advantage plans and the government’s prescription drug program.

A new insurance survey found that Generation Y is looking for change when it comes to workplace benefits.
